Great enterprises often have humble beginnings. The story of Hyundai Material Handling begins in the post-World War II era of 1947. A man, a visionary, the son of a poor farmer, founded a company. Over the years that company grew into a global enterprise, entered new businesses, introduced countless innovations, and transformed industry and the lives of consumers.
Chung Ju-yung, our founder, had a vision of a better world. To that end, he created Hyundai Construction. The word “Hyundai” means modernity. The name itself was an inspiration and it inspired generations of dedicated employees to be innovators, pushing the boundaries of quality, value, efficiency and productivity in a vast range of products.
Today, the name Hyundai can be found on great ships plying every ocean, on vehicles navigating roads around the world, on construction equipment building a better tomorrow, and, of course, on forklifts transporting goods and lifting the productivity and profits of companies large and small.
